The Double Smash Burger

A classic double smash build delivering crispy edges, rich beef flavour and a satisfying, indulgent finish.

Method:

  1. Cook using a flat top.
  2. Pre‑heat the flat top to 190°C and lightly drizzle with oil.
  3. Place the patties onto the flat top and leave undisturbed for 1 minute.
  4. Flip the patties and cook for a further 1 minute.
  5. At 2 minutes, place burger weights on top of the patties.
  6. At 3 minutes, flip the patties and return the weights to the top.
  7. At 4 minutes, flip the patties again and reapply the weights.
  8. Repeat this process again at 4 minutes 30 seconds.
  9. At 5 minutes, remove the patties from the heat and serve.

Build:

  1. Lightly toast the seeded bun
  2. Spread burger sauce on both bun halves
  3. Add sliced onions
  4. Stack two smashed patties with American‑style cheese
  5. Finish with the top bun and serve immediately
