Breakfast Matters: Join The Breakfast Revolution

Back to articles

As the start of the new academic year draws closer, Big Al’s is helping university caterers make the most of the breakfast occasion.

With the breakfast channel expected to grow by +5.7% in 2018 and a further +4.8% in 2019[1] and as breakfast is the most popular meal of the day amongst Millennials and GenZ[2], operators need to perfect their morning menus to profit from this time of day. Breakfast is key for universities, as skipping morning meals will affect student’s focus and concentration levels.

As part of the new Breakfast Matters campaign, Big Al’s is creating free Back to Uni packs for operators to provide a delicious morning meal for both students and staff. Complete with POS for venues and digital assets for social media, the packs are a great tool for operators to run their own breakfast event during Freshers Week. Big Al’s can support with your campaign and be there on your sampling day. What’s more, the first 20 caterers to sign up will received 40 free servings of the delicious Sausage Patty.

Launched at the start of this year, the fully cooked Big Al’s Sausage Patties are made from fully cooked pork, flame grilled for great taste and seasoned with sage, nutmeg and pepper for a delicious authentic flavour. Created to assist operators in tapping into the ever-growing breakfast and on-the-go markets, the Sausage Patties are ready to serve from frozen in less than a minute.

Big Al’s Sausage Patties work well as a quick on the go option in a KaterBake English Breakfast muffin, with a cheese slice, Framptons Muffin Omelette and a drop of ketchup. Alternatively, for a more indulgent breakfast dish, offer a Big Al’s Sausage Patty on a bed of spinach, topped with a slice of cheese, poached egg and drizzle of hollandaise sauce, all in a toasted brioche bun.
